My Priority Pass Select Membership is Life

Starting our Vacation at a DC Priority Pass Airport Lounge

With my Priority Pass Select Membership, I can start my vacation, while I am still at the airport.

Priority Pass Select membership allows me and my guests to access airport lounges around the world, without having to flight in First or Business Class.  Priority Pass is a network of over 1,200 worldwide lounges, found in Asia, Europe, Africa, Middle East, North America, UK, Ireland, and Latin America & the Caribbean.

The membership benefits include access to private and comfortable waiting areas.  Free Wi-Fi, clean and private restrooms, and business centers.  Soft drinks, coffee, beer, alcohol, and wine- for free. Snacks, salads, cheeses, and some lounges offer elaborate food buffets, desserts, and specialty amenities such as mini massages and facials.  Many lounges are equipped with showers, sleeping areas, and praying rooms.  In addition to these benefits, Priority Pass also offers airport restaurant dining options and retail and spa discounts.  In addition to accessing the available lounges, Priority Pass has also added over 30 restaurants members can visit and get a per person credit of $28 worth of food and drinks towards the bill.  Of those 30 restaurants, 20 are located in United States airports.  I have visited a few of these restaurants including in Lexington, KY, and Washington, DC.  We enjoyed full lunches and drinks with the credit.

Prior to booking my flights, I always take in consideration my departing and connecting airports and the availability of Priority Pass lounges in them.  The travel experience is so much smoother when you have access to waiting in one of those lounges.  I usually arrive at the airport with ample time to enjoy the amenities offered by Priority Pass lounges.  We relax with drink in hand.  Enjoy food, cheese, crackers, fruit, and desserts in a relaxing environment.  Some of the lounges offer special amenities and play areas for children- my daughter loves the lounges that caters to the kids.  Some lounges have ample playing areas for kids, coloring books, TV’s playing kids’ movies, and foods and snacks geared for children.

Fully stocked with drinking options lounge in Madrid

Some of the best lounges I have visited include lounges in Madrid, Barcelona, Beijing, Lisbon, Washington, DC and Bangkok, Thailand.  Amenities vary by location, and the food and drinks offered are local specialties.  In Rome, the lounge included amazing assortment of cheeses and wonderful wines.  In Lisbon, they offered pasteis de nata.  In Madrid, we had the best jamon and Spanish Cava.  Barcelona’s airport Sala VIP Pau Casals has been the best international lounge we have visited with Priority Pass.  They had an amazing breakfast, (mimosas, wines, and all) and a large area for kids to play.  It was a win-win situation for us and for our daughter Bella.  In the United States, the best lounge we have visited is in Washington, DC Dulles International airport, the Turkish Airlines Lounge, with Turkish delights and Turkish coffee and tea! Awesome lamb curry and amazing sweets.  The best sleeping cubes and showers were in Lisbon Airport’s ANA Lounge.

Options, options, at Priority Pass lounge in Barcelona

I have my Priority Pass Select membership, provided as a free benefit from one of my credit cards.  There are several credit cards that include the membership as one of their benefit.  For those who prefer to purchase the membership, without having to get a credit card, prices ranges from $99-$425, for an annual membership.

I love having this membership, because we use it often.  We flight an average of 4-5 times per year, and use the membership during departures and layovers, for both legs of our trips.  If you travel often, and your home airport has a lounge, then I recommend you purchase.  If you flight less frequently, buying individual passes is probably a better option.  Before purchasing the membership, review your credit card’s benefits, Priority Pass Select membership may be included as one of your benefits, and you can start using it as soon as you order your membership card.

I didn’t know about this pass – I love the idea that you have all these different lounges that you can use before your flight to relax and get out of the noise and bustle of the airport. Anything to make flying easier! It’s great you mention the cities/airports where you have especially enjoyed the lounges (like Washington, D.C.). Thanks– Paige Bainbridge (www.paigebainbridge.com)

  3. Interesting! I’ll see if my Chase offers something similar though I travel twice a year, at the most. A lot of perks it has.

    1. It is relaxing and money saving. Dining at airport or even buying a bottle of water can get expensive. With this membership, you can save a lot of money, specially when flying with a family.

  8. Wow, this an amazing pass. I really want to have Priority Pass so I can experience first class lounges but I don’t go on trips a lot. Can you use it in Japan and Korea?

    1. Yes, there are lounges in Japan and Korea. If you don’t travel much, you may be better off buying single passes, or check out if it’s a benefit provided by your credit card, for free.
